Inside the Certified Moorish 508 Toolkit

A document-by-document guide for those serious about building a religious auxiliary the right way.

Islam and Welcome.

You’ve either purchased the Toolkit, or you’re doing your due diligence before you buy. Either way, this guide walks you through what’s included and how each piece fits into your greater mission. You won’t find confusing tax code or government forms here—just clear tools, written for Moorish Americans, that uphold your rights and protect your work.

What’s Included

The Toolkit contains:

  • A downloadable roadmap for every step
  • Fillable Articles of Incorporation
  • EIN Application instructions
  • Corporate Banking Resolution
  • Prewritten Notice of 508 Status
  • State-level Tax Exemption Request
  • 2 rounds of document review for accuracy

This page explains each one in depth below.

Document Breakdown: What Each File Is For

1. 508 Incorporation Roadmap

Purpose: Your step-by-step guide through the formation process.

Use When: Immediately — it orients you before you touch any documents.

How to Use: Read it in full first. It outlines the order in which to open, complete, and file the toolkit’s contents.

Common Mistake to Avoid: Skipping ahead or mixing up document sequence — the roadmap prevents that.

2. Course Introduction to IRS Code 508

Purpose: Understand the law and your rights under §508 and §6033.

Use When: Right after reading the roadmap.

How to Use: Study the document so you can speak confidently about your organization’s legal standing as a religious auxiliary.

Common Mistake to Avoid: Treating this like theory — it’s your legal positioning. It’s how you protect your work in writing.

3. EIN Application Instructions

Purpose: Get your Employer Identification Number (EIN) without triggering misclassification.

Use When: First step of actual filing. You’ll need the EIN for nearly every other document.

How to Use: Follow the exact instructions. It tells you which IRS category to choose and how to label your business as a religious nonprofit.

Common Mistake to Avoid: Selecting the wrong EIN category (like “Other” instead of “Religious Non-Profit”) or including a DBA, which can lead to IRS misunderstandings.

4. Articles of Incorporation (Template)

Purpose: Formally establish your Moorish religious auxiliary with your state.

Use When: After receiving your EIN.

How to Use: Edit the red text fields with your actual info (business name, state, agent, etc.), then submit to your Secretary of State.

Common Mistake to Avoid: Filing this before reading the course introduction or roadmap — you’ll miss critical guidance around state filings and naming.

5. Corporate Banking Resolutions (Template)

Purpose: Authorize yourself and your officers to open a nonprofit bank account.

Use When: After receiving state approval of your Articles.

How to Use: Fill in your org name and officer details, sign, and bring it with your Articles to the bank.

Common Mistake to Avoid: Trying to open a business account before filing your Articles or without this resolution.

6. Notice of 508 Status (Template)

Purpose: Notify the IRS and your Secretary of State that you’re operating as a §508(c)(1)(A) religious auxiliary.

Use When: After filing Articles and receiving your state tax exemption (or just before, depending on your order).

How to Use: Complete and mail this with USPS tracking. Send one to the IRS and one to your Secretary of State.

Common Mistake to Avoid: Forgetting to save your tracking receipts — they are your proof of notice.

7. Request for Tax Exemption Certificate (Template)

Purpose: Apply for your state’s sales tax exemption.

Use When: After you’ve filed your Articles and received your EIN.

How to Use: Edit the letter with your info and submit to your state revenue department. Attach required documents as listed.

Common Mistake to Avoid: Filing this before securing your EIN and incorporation — states often deny incomplete applications.

8. Two Rounds of Document Review

Purpose: Ensure your completed documents are accurate before filing.

Use When: After filling in your templates.

How to Use: Submit via email to certified@califamedia.com. You’ll receive comments or approval.

Common Mistake to Avoid: Waiting until after you file — use the reviews before you submit anything to the state or IRS.

What Happens After You File

Once you’ve submitted your Articles of Incorporation and notified the IRS of your 508 status, you’ve formally established your religious auxiliary. You’ve also begun the process of protecting your mission under Moorish law, U.S. code, and international recognition of indigenous rights. Here’s what to expect next.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ 1. State Confirmation

After you file your Articles of Incorporation, your Secretary of State will process the documents and return either:

  • A Certificate of Incorporation (confirming your legal existence), or
  • A notice of rejection (usually for minor errors like incorrect signatures or missing fields)

๐Ÿ“Œ What to do: Hold off on opening a bank account or filing other documents until you receive this certificate.

๐Ÿฆ 2. Open Your Bank Account

Once your Articles are approved, you can open a business account at your chosen bank using:

  • Your state-approved Articles
  • Your EIN confirmation
  • Your completed Corporate Banking Resolution

๐Ÿ“Œ Tip: If questioned by the bank, identify your entity as a religious nonprofit auxiliary. This is usually enough to move forward.

๐Ÿ’ณ 3. Apply for State Tax Exemption

Next, use the Request for Tax Exemption Certificate included in your Toolkit to file with your state’s Department of Revenue. This:

  • Allows you to make tax-exempt purchases
  • Helps solidify your nonprofit status at the state level

๐Ÿ“Œ What to do: Attach all requested documents and use mail tracking. If your state has an online application, you may adapt the template text as needed.

๐Ÿ“จ 4. File Your Notice of 508 Status

If you haven’t done so already, now is the time to send your Notice of 508 Status to:

  • Your Secretary of State
  • The IRS Exempt Organizations Unit in Ogden, Utah

๐Ÿ“Œ What to do: Use USPS tracking, and be sure to download or screenshot delivery confirmation. These receipts are your protection.

๐Ÿงพ 5. Begin Recordkeeping

From here, you’ll start maintaining your auxiliary’s records:

  • Store digital and hard copies of all filings
  • Document your charitable activities (events, donations, services rendered)
  • Keep meeting notes and receipts related to your mission

๐Ÿ“Œ Why this matters: While you’re exempt from annual IRS filings, good recordkeeping protects your organization and helps prove you’re operating for religious and charitable purposes.
